We use customer types to specify areas of the catalogue that a customer sees when they log in. Pet Products / Angling Products
Being able to theme the site based on their customer type would be beneficial. This feature was previously implemented.

I am not quite clear on what you are asking for here.
Do you want to restrict customers to certain departments? If so this can be done with Customer Type C though this is principally there to create a custom experience for on specific customer(s)
Or do you want to apply a change of styling (colour, font , imagery) for types of customers.
