While there is a quick order by CSV upload, some customers have asked if its possible to upload a PO to create an order. Essentially, this could skip a lot of checkout steps too, going to a final confirmation.
This may require OCR recognition, and perhaps camera recognition on the app to pick up PO data (most smartphones can do this by default now). The reason for this is that most users don't know what to do with a CSV file but they are familiar with their POs. In some instances it may help to speed up batch order processsing if a customer needs to place multiple orders per day for deliveries at different times of month or to different locations.
Autoentry for Sage for example has a unique email address in which you can send files to for the system to analyse. Although this software serves a different purpose to automate internal invoice processing.
While there is also a very useful barcode function on the app for adding products to basket, some businesses may not have barcoded systems in place to enable use of this functionality and some users may not have the barcodes to hand depending on how they store/handle their goods
We have looked at this a couple of times in the past and the PDF reading technology was just not up to it. These things move quickly though, especially with the new AI tools. If this idea gets enough votes we will take a serious look at this again.
